Just completed and released a new website for a lady who does beautiful upholstery work in Essex, near Saffron Walden.
Gill’s new WordPress site will allow her to easily show us some of the beautiful things she is working on in her studio near Saffron Walden. As someone who struggles to darn a hole in a sock I have huge appreciation of people who can manipulate material into such lovely things. And my interest in local history loves the fact that old furniture can go on and be given a new lease of life to continue to provide pleasure in our homes.
Site structure:
It can be tricky to find a suitable theme or design for a WordPress site but this one just came together – it must have been Gill’s influence. I wanted a fairly modern, clean look, to be able to show off the furniture to its best advantage. The slideshow on the home page and also the featured boxes on the bottom of the home page are all easily edited from the WordPress Dashboard and widgets panels meaning Gill can easily and quickly give the site a fresh look.
We are using this site principally as a showcase for Gill’s work so comments are not enabled at present as we did not want any sort of discussion facility on the site currently. Social Media buttons may be added later as the site develops.
